Written and produced entirely by Achickwitbeatz, this may be one of the first instrumental beat vinyl records in this lane written and produced by a Black woman — a powerful lineage shift in a genre long shaped by invisible labor and overlooked architects.
The title is a layered play on words.
“Your Mother’s Beatz” reminds us that the Black woman is the cradle of humankind. The creator. The innovator. The rhythmic source. Without her, there is no culture. Without her, there is no music.
