Conversations & Quotables: Q&A With Daforce.PNG

I recently had a brief Q&A session with an artist by the name of Daforce.  He took some time to share his story and his views on the music industry.

Achickwitbeatz: Who is Daforce?

Daforce: Sometimes I don't know who he is hahaha just playing. I'm a rapper/producer residing in Lancaster, California. Friends started naming me Force because of my strong will and determination. Plus growing up I would always stand up to the bigger kids even though I'd get my ass whooped everytime. It seemed that I was a magnet for the older kids, never anyone my size or age.

Achickwitbeatz: How long have you been rapping/producing?

Daforce: I've been rapping since the late 90's but not really seriously because I was doing more street promotions and stuff behind the scenes for labels. I was able to learn a lot behind the scenes and meet a lot of these rappers we grew to love most of 'em were real cool and very intelligent.

Achickwitbeatz: What can listeners expect from you?

Daforce: Most listeners expect to hear some real talk from Daforce, I have a unique way of speaking and communicating with people. I use simple, plain words so the listeners can get the message. Maybe not when you're first hearing it, but after playing and playing it you catch some of those simple phrases that make you sit back and say "oh, I see what he's saying". Whether its on some street sh*t or on simple life sh*t.

Achickwitbeatz: What advice do you have to offer up & coming independent artists?

Daforce: I think basically from my observation most aspiring rappers now a days kind of know what they have to do. Keep it independent until you have built up some value and stock in what you have done then get with the right management and team to push you further. Me personally I never really ran after that because I was too busy working on other people's stuff.

Achickwitbeatz: What are 5 attributes/skills an artist should have to make your top 10 list?

Daforce: This is just my opinion, I think he or she should have some kind of personality. Secondly, they have to be able to adapt to almost any work condition that may arise in the studio or on the road or even with the politics of the business. Third, communicate well with fans and build that link of understanding. Fourth be nice and truthful with that delivery and lastly, be fearless. I think when a rapper/musician, etc. has these attributes they have greatness and we know who these people are.  Whether we feel them or not, their message was successfully delivered and understood, and these are the ones people tend to love.

Achickwitbeatz: Conversely, what are 5 attributes that would put artists at the very bottom of your list?

Daforce: Laziness, fearful, those that forget it's their team and fans that make them,
a performer who refuses to pay homage to those before them, and haters.

Achickwitbeatz: What's next on the horizon for Daforce?

Daforce: Well, I'm finishing up the tracks in the studio for my mixtape titled "Big League" and the upcoming EP "Go Go Go", which will have some special features that are a perfect fit for this release.  I'm also working on Curtis Dayne's EP.

Achickwitbeatz: How can people connect with you and stay current with what you have in the works?

Daforce: Anyone interested in connecting with me can hit me up on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram.
