Spotify for Artists is making some changes to historical data. To retain all of your info before the update, download your song page data by June 30, 2023, and your Audience Overview data by August 31, 2023.
Beginning August 2023, Spotify for Artists is introducing the Engagement tab to replace the Audience Overview tab. It'll show you streams, listeners, and followers stats for the past 2 years and the current year. Starting July 1, 2023, song pages will provide data for the past 2 years and the year to date. Don't worry, you can still view all-time stream counts for your songs.
The new analytics features will include custom date range filters on more pages, new engagement stats on your Songs page, new fan segmentation of your active audience, more historical data on your Audience engagement page, and a new roster management view. The Similar Artists and Compare to Other Artists features will be removed due to low usage.

Many of these outlets use jargon that is common to mainstream heavy-hitters, but often tends make independent artists who don't have the time to research terms feel excluded. As a producer, I've been asked about many of these from time to time, so I compiled a glossary with concise definitions to help you navigate through any article to determine how you can apply the information to your artistic career. Collaboration is an awesome tool when executed effectively. The benefits to the parties involved can make a huge impact on their individual careers but occasionally, they can go wrong. Sometimes things just happen that can throw off planning, other times people just happen.
When “people” happen, it is not due to anomalies but rather reoccurring habitual actions that lead to expectations not being met. Some of these characteristics can leave a bad taste in the mouths of collaborating artists, producers and promoters, potentially causing social backlash.
If you recognize these traits in anyone you have worked with, are working with or desire to work with you can make adjustments accordingly to spare yourself some headache. If you recognize any of these traits in yourself, reflect on it and take the opportunity to become a person people love to collaborate with.

Strong internet presence is a coveted thing amongst many independent artists. So much so, that for some lies the temptation to take shortcuts to gain notoriety. There are a plethora of companies that offer the illusion that more people are paying attention to an artist than there actually are. The truth is that there are people on this planet who believe something is hot simply because they are told that it is or they’re seeking to be a part of the first wave of the next big thing. While these tactics may draw the attention of those individuals to you, they are bandwagon fans and they’re not going to be loyal. If you are only concerned with appearances, you are not going to attract a fan base that will provide you with longevity.
